The downsiwng is one motion and the body works as a WHOLE to start the downswing through the finish. The whole body moves the mass and energy of the body and club, trying to bump the hips, spin the hips, separate the hips ect has proven and will always prove to cause big problems for the causes
Think of it as if you were to slam a door shut, would you make individual movements or want to make a full body motion?
Mike Tyson I have heard used to train his hooking punches by slamming the door because it gave him full body rotational power
